Falcons Earn Accolades on and Off the Playing Field

To date, 3 members of the BGSU Women's Soccer team have earned individual honors this year. Our winning season is a function of both our hard work day in and day out and our commitment to playing for each other. And while everything that we accomplish is a team effort, committee members for the MAC conference have recognized, and awarded, individual efforts that have been noteworthy.

Two players have been awarded MAC player of the week honors. This award is given to One player, comprised of every player in the conference, who has displayed great play and has made an impact in their respective team's weekend play.

Colleen Kordan: Was honored as MAC player of the week on Sept. 15th. Kordan received the honor in lieu of her 2/2 penalty kick makes during the Tennessee Tech/Marshall weekend. Also during that weekend, Kordan helped to anchor a defensive line that recorded two consecutive shutouts.

Alexa Arsenault: Was honored as MAC player of the week on Sept. 8th. For the honor, Arsenault completed a shutout against IPFW and had 6 saves in a 1-1 tie with perennial powerhouse Ohio State. On the year, Aresenault has started 11 games and has a 0.85 GAA and 57 saves.

Katie Stephenson has been recently honored with MAC Scholar Athlete of the week. The MAC Scholar Athlete of the week is presented to an athlete who has a GPA of 3.0 or better and has performed well on the field. Katie has 3 goals on the young season and an assist. Notably, Katie is a 4.0 student who is studying finance.
