Pre-Season Fun

The team took some much needed time off from their regularly scheduled, and intense, practice sessions to enjoy some relaxation and team bonding activities. The group set off for "Camp Blandakowa", the name given to the Bland's lakehouse, and enjoyed a fun-filled day of sun, boat rides, hula hoop contests, a cornhole tournament, great food and a ton of laughs. Quality time and overall enjoyment was shared by everyone and on an important sidenote: Susan Hunter and Kaitlyn Kobe handily defeated Scott and Andy in the Cornhole Championship game. Both the coaches declined to comment on the incident. A canoeing trip was also planned for the Indian Lake trip, and was quite a site for anyone who witnessed the spectacle. Gina and Sam found themselves tipped over not even 2 minutes into the trip and wound up with buckets of water in their canoe for the rest of the time. It is thought that this water was the culprit in the other 5 times that Gina and Sam found the bottom of the river.... Bri and her canoeing partner, Bhop, also had trouble navigating the course. It seemed as though these two preferred to zig-zag down the river instead of following the natural current, which would have been a more efficient alternative... Almost making it to the end was Kelsey, who fell into the river while attempting to exit the canoe at the unloading zone.... Jackie and Precious (Katelyn), despite losing an oar halfway through the trip, were crowned the winners of the 1st annual BGSU Women's Soccer canoe race. The following week, the team took an afternoon off to spend some time at Carter Park. The team convened into their "pre-season competitive teams" and took each other on in both soccer golf and soccer volleyball. At one point, Alexa had to shimmy up a tree in order to collect her miss-hit tee-off and had to take a one stroke penalty. (BTW Alexa, you owe us $45 to replace the ball you popped). Z produced the lowest score and was pronounced the winner of the golf challenge, while Gina drug her team to the losers bracket by having the highest score. Soccer volleyball started out as a friendly competition, but ended with two bloody noses. Thankfully, both incidences were non-contact related, and the two players are back to normal. After the players were completely covered in sand and in pain from the overinflated soccer balls, Team A was crowned the winners of this week's activities and were handsomely rewarded with chipotle burritos.
