Today, BGSU prevailed over the Akron Zips by a score of 2-0. Gina Rossi scored the game winning goal around the 75 minute mark on a nice dribbling display at the top of the box, and Alicia Almond rounded out the scoring with a little over 8 minutes to go. The zips had a couple of good chances throughout the game, but were always thwarted by the strong BG defensive line. Alexa Arsenault, again, made some very nice saves, including a penalty kick stop early in the 1st half, to keep the Zips off the scoreboard.
The win today was a real team effort. The depth of the BG bench is proving to be a great assest. The team, as a whole, is firing on all cylinders and the energy and excitment around the team is really dynamic and compelling. It's a great time to be a falcon!
We host Ball State on Friday at 4:00pm and Miami on Sunday at 1:00pm...Hope to see you there!
