The BGSU Women's Soccer team earned a goal early in each half of Friday's matchup with Indiana State and were able to come out on top 2-1 in a rain soaked and aggressive match. Sophomore Alyssa Zuccaro was assissted by Jackie Tamerlano for the first goal of match, and then had a hand in BG's second goal, dishing it off to fellow forward Megan Amann who earned the game winner in the 2-1 win.
Incliment weather forced its way through the area, and caused for a delay in the game shortly before the half-time. Prior to the delay, the falcons were flying all over the field, and were able to control much of the run of play. However, following the break, ISU were able to re-gather themselves and put up a very good fight throughout the rest of the match. The BGSU offense put together many scoring opportunities and should have converted a few more of their chances on the night.
Overall though, the team is making great strides in their preparation for conference play later in the season. Goalkeepers Laura Arnold and Becca Ison both made their collegiate debuts in Friday night's match. Laura made an outstanding pk save to keep BG ahead 1-0 at half-time, and Becca recorded 6 saves in a very busy second half to keep BG on top after ISU found the back of the net on a corner.
The team will travel to Michigan State on Sunday to take on the Spartans, in what will likely be a very tough game against a highly skilled MSU team. Kick-off is set for 1:00pm
