BG Plays well in 1-1 Draw with Ohio

The falcons scored first to take a 1-0 lead into halftime against the Bobcats of OU. The Bobcats fought back to make it 1-1 mid-way into the 2nd half, and neither team could find a game winner. The falcons controlled the majority of the play, and looked the better team throughout the match. Going into overtime, Katelyn Turner was sprung in behind the OU defense and had a great strike on goal that beat the keeper, but the ball clanged off the post once, and then again in the ensuing scuffle for the rebound.

The first half goal for the Falcon's was scored by Katelyn Turner, her third of the season. Megan Amann was credited with the assist to Turner, after her finely placed corner kick found the head of Turner in the box.

The Falcon's take on the Zips of Akron next. Game day is set for Sunday, with kickoff at 1:00. The team will be sponsoring a PINK out day, in honor of breast cancer awareness. Pink t-shirts can be purchased at the game, with $1 of the proceeds from each shirt going toward the Susan B Komen foundation.

Ball State Tops Falcons 1-0

Jacki Eft scored midway through the first half to give host Ball State University a 1-0 win over the Bowling Green State University women's soccer team Friday afternoon (Oct. 3). The Mid-American Conference match was held at the BSU Soccer Field.

BGSU had a narrow 6-5 advantage in shots on goal, and a whopping 12-2 margin in corner kicks, but could not get a shot past Ball State goalkeeper Nicole Wood. Wood made five saves in goal, and was helped immensely by a 'team save' in the final moments of the match.

The Falcons will remain on the road for a Sunday match against Miami. Kick off is set for 1:00pm.
